Hello!
This past Thursday, I revealed my intention to become Pacific Grove’s next mayor.
Since then, I have been receiving well-wishes, meeting more residents, and fielding questions about how folks can get involved. I know it’s early in the season and we have lots of work to do, but I already can’t thank y’all enough. It is exciting, emotional, and humbling all at once.
We might be a small community, but I now know for certain that we want to do big things.
Our family has lived in Pacific Grove for a year, so the decision to run for mayor may seem surprising or “too soon” to some. I totally understand that.
But this is our family’s home. We have put down fresh roots. And we want to nurture the best possible future not only for our family and friends, but for our neighbors and community at large.
To be clear: I am not a politician. I simply want to help make our community even more incredible.
And there is not a single second—much less year or two or four—to wait.
So, if you have ever had the urge to serve your community like I have, I think you should try to do it. In fact, you can still get on the ballot for City Council or Mayor for this November election if you complete paperwork by August 12th.
Will it ever be the perfect time to do something? No. But it might be the right time.
And if we’re going to build the Pacific Grove of our dreams, we’re going to have to do it together.
However, if you’re more interested in volunteering for my campaign than running your own, I have good news: I need a lot of help! From button making to block walking to phone banking to communications to a million different things…I would be forever grateful for your time and energy.
Reply to this email with VOLUNTEER and I will be sure to send you more information.
Thank you for everything and I hope you had a great weekend.

P.S. — “Wachs” sounds like “wax” 🤗
